With the advance of the generation, leaders and successors are forced to deal with all kinds of challenges during different phases. In the past, what enterprises pursued might be brand name, quality of merchandise or services, but now the ESG to Huang Guan Hua(Sunny), the CEO of the New Wide Group and the Co-Founder of the Smart Capital, no doubt is a serious challenge for everyone who has strong responsibility like him needs to deal with.
“For survival, ESG is inevitable.” In Sunny’s view, the upgrades and transitions which the ESG brought to the enterprises are all additional. “The first thing that the ESG can offer is to help the enterprises survive in this continuously advanced world. Every enterprise should fully execute the ESG and keep every aspect branded in their DNA, which offers you an opportunity to survive longer.”
With the discussion of the ESG, Sunny humorously gave the ecology instance as an example for us: the young lion needs to challenge the chief to gain leadership, which takes the right time, right place and right conditions. In Chinese history, the conflicts between emperors and princes happened all the time, the emperor might even kill the prince for his own throne. “Hence the successor of the enterprise is no different to the throne conflict which is full of challenges and risks.”
“Like I always said to the media, I’m just a manager who went home to help and has the consanguinity.” Sunny indicated that the public opinion about his title has covered people’s sight and made them neglect the successor’s thoughts, also the ideas to the enterprises and world, which is truly a pity.
“The issue of the successor is really epidemic now, and the ESG perception isn’t valued until this generation, and as the successor makes up his mind to link up the world with his enterprise, the integration of resources and creativity are definitely the key elements to keep the whole world sharing the same perception of ESG.”
To Sunny, the ESG is more than just a slogan, it’s a belief of faith which needs to be implemented at the drop of a hat. “Inward and outward are both significant. For the inward, it is necessary to spread the ESG’s concept into the enterprise, only then we can fulfill the meaning of it, and bring the benefit for the enterprise. For the outward, let the whole world know what you truly have done instead of being modest, which can promote a virtuous circle.”
So far there are still plenty of enterprises unfamiliar with the ESG concept, no matter what sectors they are. Some of them consider the ESG will beget the extra cost, even more, sacrificing the profit of the company. Sunny has a different perspective about this thing.
“In my state of mind, it should never be a cost, instead, it’s an investment, ” I heard many people talking about the ESG transition and upgrade. In my opinion, I think these concepts are too noble, indeed it can bring us everything, survival it is.”
