ESG Is a Belief of Faith, Sunny Huang, CEO of The New Wide Group, Co-Founder of Smart Capital: You’ll Get Return When You Believe It!

“What people consider for enterprise investment nowadays has changed from the financial interest to the social impact, the ESG.”

Huang Guan Hua(Sunny), CEO of The New Wide Group, Co-Founder of Smart Capital, had mentioned in the previous interview 《Huang Guan Hua, CEO of The New Wide Group, Co-Founder of Smart Capital: ESG Is Worth for My Effort to Invite Everyone for Investment》 that executing the ESG is no different from investing in the enterprise itself. It was due to his hard work on the ESG that contributed to the cooperation with vertical supply chain manufacturers which cut the mustard of promoting the ESG.

“Though the return of the ESG is not immediate, it is a trend that is worth concerning in the future,” Sunny mentioned during the interview “what the investors valued in the past was the absolute of the financial interests, and now there’s a new cogitation called the ‘Impact Investing’ which comprises the ESG.”

Sunny had pointed out a crucial point, the enterprises’ actions, whether they do protect the environment, give back to the society, or not, will all directly affect people’s perception of it. Now most of the enterprises with strong social  influence have become the major investment.

“From investors’ point of view I can accurately say, instead of being profitable I rather it is sustainable, and I can tell you that many people and I are seeing eye to eye, hence, the enterprises which are against the ESG will gradually decrease.”

However, numerous enterprises in order to reach the criteria of ESG they elaborated the achievement deliberately, “I don’t understand why they did this because everyone can tell the truth beyond their behaviors, how’s that possible the investors’ eyes aren’t sharp? In fact, the only thing that is necessary for you is to discover your problems and deal with them without harming the environment. Why promote it on purpose?” To Sunny, ESG is more than just a slogan for making money and the enterprise really doesn’t need to show off its doing because it is plain to see.

As the one who promoted the ESG for a long-term, Sunny occasionally gets invited as the judge for the pioneer competition. He shared the experience with a smile.

“Numerous people are really good at presentations that can describe their companies comprehensively, but the investment never premeditated the fluency and composure of the presentation, or whose companies have stronger  ability, it’s about what your team can do and what you can give back to the society, ESG, or even SDGs.” Sunny emphasizes as long as you are on the right path then there’s no worry for your enterprise’s size or economy, because ESG will bring you more in the future.

How does the startup take the first step with the lack of resources? Here’s the recommendation from Sunny.

“You can start with believing in it, instead of implementing it deliberately you just need to keep recalling it while you’re making the next move. Afterward everyone and even the whole world will see your doings.”
